Abercrombie & Fitch was founded in New York by David Abercrombie in 1892. Known then only as Abercrombie Co., David started out as an upscale sporting goods store in downtown Manhattan. Ezra Fitch was a wealthy businessman and became a regular customer before joining the company in 1900. The brand changed its name to Abercrombie & Fitch in 1904. Fierce, first introduced in 2002, is the company’s best-selling fragrance and is considered the store’s “signature.”
The first Abercrombie & Fitch fragrance, Woods, was launched in the 1990s and Perfume No. 1 is signature scent for women.
